*Review* LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss

All aboard the Matte Train, Woo Woo! E'rrybody's on the matte train. That's totally fine because it's a pretty snazzy train to be on if I do say so myself! I've been searching for a good matte liquid lipstick for a reasonable price. I think I may have found it with the L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses! They have 16 different shades which is a REALLY nice range to choose from, and to top it off, they are only $5.00 a pop on the L.A. Girl website

I had accidentally cut off a few names.

Iconic- This shade is a very pretty pastel blue-toned baby pink.

Fantasy- This shade is a slightly coral and more of a warm light pink.

Playful- This shade is a medium bright pink.

Timeless- This shade is a warm light berry shade.

Rebel- This shade is my favorite out of the bunch. I have worn it many times and it's migrated to my middle vanity drawer for easy access, lol. It's a warm deep raspberry shade with a small touch of a smoked purple pigment. It's gorgeous!

Stunner- This shade is a very bright neon deep purple.

Swatches Top to Bottom: Stunner, Rebel, Timeless, Playful, Fantasy and Iconic.

The formula is drying, and it's supposed to be. Most mattes are. What I have found to be helpful is using the Elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer on my lips first. This actually helps keep my lips soft, hydrated and keeps the color in place for longer. All of the shades started to fade a bit around the 4th hour of wear. Honestly, I feel that's not too shabby for matte formula. These are basically liquid lipsticks, so I'm not sure why they have the name, "Flat Finish Pigment Gloss." In fact, the only thing "glossy" about these products is that they come in the same form of packaging as most glosses do. The formula is anything but though. It's full of pigmentation, and the product is pretty opaque, which doesn't make me think of lip gloss at all.

There are quite a few more expensive options on the market from LA Splash's Lip Couture to Anastasia Beverly Hills' Liquid Lipsticks but these products from L.A. Girl are spot on for the price!

Would I repurchase? Absolutely. I'm planning on picking up at least 5 more shades for Summer, and Rebel has been my go-to matte berry red lip recently. What's your fave matte lip products? Any recommendations? If so, let me know!

How I do my Lactic Acid Chemical Peels from Home!

I realize that something with the word "Acid" in it's name can be intimidating. There's not a ton of information on the internet on how to do a peel for yourself at home. I did my own research for a year before I took the plunge and tried it myself. I was nervous, worried and a bit scared that I'd mess up my face somehow! After all of my research, and all of my worrying, I gave it a go...and I REALLY enjoy it! It's not as frightening as one would think--it's actually pretty easy and affordable to do it yourself.

I've had quite a few questions as to what products I use to achieve the results that I have. I am excited to share these budget-friendly products with you! I did list my Foreo Luna which isn't exactly budget friendly, but please know that there are many affordable alternatives out there at Walgreens, Walmart, online stores as well and when it comes down to it, the Foreo is far more price efficient than the Clarisonic--there are no replacement brushes to purchase, etc. However if you do have a Clarisonic, DO NOT USE IT before and after your peel for at LEAST 3-4 days! It would be too harsh and abrasive--it will only make your skin raw and trust me, you don't want that! You do not even need to have a cleansing device to get great results...just wash your face really well and you are good to go.

So let's get down to business!

PRODUCTS:

Lacura Hydrating Facial Cleanser-this is cheaper if you can visit an ALDI close to you. It's around $3.00:

Advance Hydrate Hyaluronic Acid/Matrixyl/Vitamin C Serum:

*REVIEW* MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul

t's the Season for some sunkissed warmth to one's cheeks...so,
Drumroll Please, **badumbadumbadum** this is one of the most sought after MAC blush shades this Season and it's a pretty shimmery coral-beige. I'm pleased to introduce to you: MAC's Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul!

As some of you know, MAC has changed it's packaging of their Mineralize Blushes. I think it's far more sleek and the packaging alone just sets this product apart from other brands.

This blush is very soft and lightweight. It has a sheer amount of pigment, with a bit of shimmer. It's a muted mid-tone coral beige and has a light-medium gold warmth to it. The new formula is very different from the older formula--it's less shimmery, less marbleized (In some, there's no marble at all) but I think this is for the best. It's a smooth, light healthy shimmer now instead of a complete glitter bomb. This blush retails on their website for $27.00.

A closer look. It resembles a baked bronzer or baked highlighter but much lighter.

On the very left: Heavy swatch-not blended. On the right: Blended out. As you can see from the blended swatch, the shimmer is finely milled and disperses evenly.

On the left: Heavy swatch--more concentration brings a bit more pigmentation and shimmer. On the right: Blended out--less shimmer. This blush looks gorgeous when layered on top of another blush.

This blush lasts on average, anywhere from 8-12 hours. I don't normally wear makeup past 12 hours, but I will say that with any makeup that is applied on top of foundation--the foundation and primer or lack of these items will affect how long your eyeshadow/blush will last. I wear this blush with the Elf Moisturizing Stick Foundation and I do use a few drops of the Makeup Lock & Seal from Elf with an airbrush machine (I purchased the machine from ebay for about $25.00) or if I'm in a hurry, I will use the Makeup Mist & Set by Elf. I feel that these products also help prolong my makeup to the best of it's ability.

Now this is a gorgeous blush, however I feel that at $27.00 a pop is a bit much. Even though I really enjoy owning it and using it, when I run out of this product I think I'll be carousing the internet and blogs in search of a dupe. What's crazy is that I've heard that Milani (which is a drugstore brand) has baked blushes with a similar formula. I've yet to try any from that brand, but I will be picking up a few soon to try out and see for myself!

Conclusion:
This is a very pretty brush, but I don't believe it's worth the $27.00 price tag. If I hear of or find a dupe for this shade, I will be updating this post with that information for those of you who would rather not spend that kind of money on a single blush.

*Fashion Friday* First Outfit on a Budget Post!

Gah! I've been planning on doing one of these posts for such a looong time! I love piecing together cute outfits for great prices. Honestly I check out thrift stores, TJ MAXX, Marshall's, Ross, and NBC 1/2 of 1/2 whenever I get a chance, and I wanted to share this outfit with you guys for a while! Hopefully I can do a post like this at least once a month to show you guys an easy way to dress an article of clothing up or down, and maybe it will inspire some of you to check out a new store, thrift shop or online retailer when you get a chance.

The purse looks like it doesn't actually match, but the print of the dress has pink and white flowers and the leaves have 2 shades which are nude and a beige color. I found the Dress at a store called, "NBC Half of Half"" and the dress is by Charming Charlie. The retail price was $40.00 and I picked it up for $10.00 brand new. The shoes are by Guess, and I picked them up at the same store during a different visit for only $3.00 brand new. They retailed for $178.00. The purse is a Kathy Van Zeeland--I couldn't find this bag online to establish it's retail price but used ones are selling online for $100.00 and I paid $20.00 for it at my local DAV Red Racks thrift store.

So a purse, a pair of shoes and a dress for $33.00? Not too shabby!  Where do you guys go to hunt for the best deals around? What's the best deal you've gotten so far this Summer?

*REVIEW* Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils in Mars, Chaos and Lust!

With Summer finally here, I thought I'd jump in head first and review a few colorful liners! The products are Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils in Chaos, Lust and Mars. I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoy using a bright liner. Sometimes all you need to create a unique and fun look is a hint of colored liner on your lower lash line, or if you're super bold--you could do a bright winged eyeliner! The possibilities are nearly endless as you can mix, blend and jazz up any look with a pop of color.

These liners retail for $19.00 a pop. Some times you can catch a sale and swoop up for around $10.00 each, so I would suggest signing up for their emails, as they notify you when they have a sale, which is pretty great. Also hautelook features them from time to time, but I haven't seen the pencil liners for sale in a while...only the liquid ones which are still pretty amazing.

The packaging is always very sleek. Exactly what you'd expect from a brand whose tagline is "Beauty with an edge."

Top to Bottom: Mars, Lust, Chaos.

Mars is a metallic dark forest green shade. There is no glitter, just beautiful metallic goodness!
Lust is a deep purple with a small amount of silver glitter. There's actually very little glitter, so it's actually very subtle.
Chaos is a bright medium blue that's matte and slightly translucent.

The formula is pretty nice. It's creamy and silky. I find that some shades do tug a bit, such as Lust and Chaos, but the Mars liner just went on like a dream! Now because the other two slightly tugged doesn't mean that they are hard to work with by any means. The kohl is actually pretty soft, but to get the desired pigmentation, I had to work with 2 separate layers to get optimal results.

Aren't they so pretty!? So funny story...After I swatched these I decided to take a bubble bath. I kinda read comics in the bath tub (I know, lol) and I spent an hour in there just soaking and chilling, doing my thing. After my bath, I realized that the swatches were STILL on my hand. Mind you, I scrubbed, soaked, ran more hot water and added more bubbles, lol. Only one of the swatches had started to fade, and that was the blue shade, Chaos. The other two? Well, they looked like I just swatched them! I even scrubbed with just water after my bath and they did not budge--but as soon as I used hand soap they came right off like it was no big deal. Hey, going to the pool and want to look fancy? Oh, you're wearing eyeliner to the pool? NO BIG DEAL. It's Urban Decay and it lasts ALL day--even if your sweating, scrubbing and rubbing vigorously with water.

Most of the shades last more than 10 hours. I don't normally wear makeup for 24 hours straight, so I can't say that all of the shades are the same when it comes to longevity, but these 3 are budge proof, so if you are worried that you'll look like a raccoon from some crazy anime--don't be.

Conclusion:

You guys should already know that I'm a sucker for Urban Decay. I can't give them enough praise, and I love having such a huge variety of eyeliner shades to work with! Hand-down my fave liner brand of all time and I will always repurchase these!

*REVIEW* Colourpop's Feminist Lippie Stix!

At this point, I just cannot say enough good things about Colourpop's Lippie Stix. I seem to enjoy every single one I get my hands on. Just a bit about the products:

This brand has been taking the world by storm. I went from not having a clue that the company existed to seeing this new company all over the internet, i.e. facebook, youtube, twitter, instagram--like all at once! So I sat back and waited to see if the hype would die down. Well folks, it didn't. Then I started wondering what I was missing out on because everyone, their mother, their boss's mailman, (okay the mailman bit is exaggerated) basically I was being swamped with pretty pictures and raves online about the Lippie Stix. So then I bouhgt 1, then 2, then 3 more and so on. I'm very glad that I did!

So let me tell you about Feminist which can be purchased here:

Taking a look at the website, the color looks almost black. I realize that computer monitor's color varies, so I ended up purchasing it. I wish that I purchased the lip pencil as well, because I do not have a liner dark enough for it. It's a very pigmented DEEP berry shade.

At only $5.00, it's a heck of a deal and here's why:
Most of the drugstore lipsticks that I own may have a bit more product, however they fade within an hour or two. Colourpop's formula is spot on guys, it's VERY opaque- meaning you need less to cover your lips. When I thought about I realized that I use way more product with a drugstore lipstick to get even coverage and when I added in the fact that I apply my drugstore lipsticks more often throughout the day than I do my Colourpop's, well that's a no-brainer. It actually is more price efficient to purchase the Colourpops after all.

The packaging is actually pretty nice! I sometimes leave my house with a small clutch instead of a purse, and they are pretty slim. I have enough room for my Lippie Stix, my Galaxy Note 4, wallet and sometimes I take a perfume sample to spritz on when needed. (Not that I stink or anything, I promise! You'd be surprised how many girls I work with will ask me, "Hey do you have any perfume or lotion with you?" I also keep a bandaid in my purse or clutch at all times because I'm kind of a klutz.) You get 1 gram of product per Colourpop Lippie Stix. I've not had any packaging break on my so far--it's actually lightweight but sturdy.

The color is a smoked purple/red. If black, purple and red had to tango, this is what it would end up looking like. It's so dark that it's almost black--which I am thrilled about because it's kind of neat! (Doing my best to step out of my comfort zone)

Now on to the wear:

I wore this to work a few weeks ago and I had taken a few motes. It started to fade about 4 hours into my shift but it didn't surprise me because I had lunch and drank a coffee, and Coke Zero (My fave) during that time. This formula is really lightweight and non-drying. There's no glitter or shimmer, so basically what you see is what you get! I feel like the color is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm trying to make myself uncomfortable I guess. If I never try anything new, how will I know whether or not I'd like it, right? Yep. I feel compelled to use a black liner and gently blend it into this shade...because I feel like that would be fancy! Now I did get some looks while I wore this. They're just jelly that I had the balls to where this shade! Or, maybe I did look completely silly. Anyways, it gave me a little pep in my step,

Conclusion:

This brand is beyond amazing with everything that I've tried so far. They just released highlighters and bronzers too! I hope to try those sometime in the near future. Have you tried Colourpop? What's your fave product? Do you have a go-to lip shade for Summer?

I've been using Lactic Acid peels for almost 2 years now. I've talked about it in a few of my videos and on my blog over the years.
