Beauty on A Budget and Higher End Brands

Ah, the higher end makeup brands. I myself have a love for TooFaced, MAC and Urban Decay. I have personally wanted to try CARGO, but every single time I visit Sephora, I seem to be in a hurry and I just never actually get around to it. Well ladies, there are a few sites to check upon every now and again. For instance, I found this Eyeshadow quad by CARGO for $12.00 and it retails on their site for $30.00 CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!? No joke. This site has eyeshadow pens, and lip glosses of the brand CARGO for $9.00 and under. This is honestly how I purchase my high-end cosmetics. I wait for a sale, or I simply try to find it on another site for way cheaper! (I am frugal after all.) If you like CARGO, or wanted to try some of the line for way cheaper than Sephora sells it, here you go. Let me know if you purchase anything or have any recommendations! I am currently deciding on what to try. I kind of have my heart set on the Eyeshadow Quad! :) I will try to keep everyone updated with all of the sales I find on the net, so that you guys can get a head's up on the good stuff! ;) Here's the link: Keep checking out the site every few days for new beauty items to appear. They also sell Urban Decay, The Balm, and ELF products quite often, so it's very worth checking up on often, as things sell out really quickly here! (No wonder, lol)

Earthy and Natural Tutorial

I felt the need to use green. I must admit, green is such a great color...grass, money, the cups in my pantry, my fave pair of socks and is also my fave nail polish shade. I think you get the idea that green is my favorite color of all time. I have red hair and when I wear green things, it feels like Christmas...EVERY DAY THAT I WEAR IT. And honestly, who DOESN'T love Christmas? Well, with this look, I used 2 shades of green and a light neutral color. Step 1: Start with your basic face. (foundation) here is my basic face as well as my "Derp" face...woo!
Step 2: Use a primer, such as Elf's mineral Eyeshadow Primer in Blush to dab your eyelids and keep hold of the eyeshadow.
Step 3: Use Elf's mineral Eyeshadow in natural to cover your eyelids.
Step 4: Take Elf's Mineral eyeshadow in earthy and go along your crease, and towards the edge of your eyelid. (the outer part)
Step 5: Take the Elf Mineral Eyeshadow in Outdoorsy (GORGEOUS COLOR) and blend that on the VERY edge of the Earthy shade on the outer corner of your eyelid. Also, dab a small amount on a smudge brush and blend along your bottom lash line. (under the lash line)
Step 6: Now it's time to line your upper lashes. I am using Elf's cream Eyeliner in Midnight. It's not as pigmented as the Black shade, and it looks very nice when smudged. After lining along the upper lash line, go over it with a small smudge brush to give it a softer look.
Step 7: Next, use a good mascara primer such as Elf's Studio Mascara Primer to coat your lashes. You can coat them 1-2 times, depending on how much volume you desire, but honestly only once is enough.
Step 8: Time to coat those lovely lashes with a good quality mascara! I'm using Elf's Studio Mineral Infused Mascara.
Step 9: Line your waterline with a black eyeliner such as Elf's Studio Kohl eyeliner.
Step 10: For Blush, I am using Elf's Studio HD Blush in Superstar. To use this, pump out a TINY a THIRD of the circumference of a #2 pencil's eraser onto the back of your hand. Use your finger to spread it out. Take a stippling or powder brush, and gently dab a small amount of the product onto the apples of your cheeks. Blend upwards and outwards.
Step 11: Use a lip gloss and lip plumper such as Elf's Plumping Lip Gloss in Oasis.

Cheap Awesome Bold Color Palette!

I ordered this on Ebay a while back, and I just thought I'd let you guys know about this! This is the Miss Rose Delicately Wet/Dry Eyeshadow palette! This palette is PERFECT for those of you who want to play with color...and I'm not talking about muted colors, in fact I'm referring to quite the opposite! This has Purples, Blues, Reds, Yellows, Magentas, Pinks, Oranges, and they are metallic. Now at first glance, this palette looks cheap. Like "there is no way that pigment is gonna last," cheap. You will be in for such a surprise! These colors are bold, and this is NOT your grandmother's palette! The shadows are a powder, but at first touch they turn into a cream. I was shocked and thrilled! I figured it would be powdery and such mess! Nope, not at all. You don't even have to RUB your fingers in it! The only downfall is that it can be hard to get enough color on your brush (when dry) to apply it. I use clean fingers to apply this, or I use them wet. The colors are marbled together, so it's kind of a surprise to see what it's really going to look like. The cream spreads evenly and boldly. The staying power is truly amazing, and now I'm planning an order for some of the other palettes! (Glitter and shimmer palettes and even the baked stuff) Here are some pics:
Here is the link to the palette on eBay. It's on sale even, and they have more than 10 so there is a good chance to be able to get one if it's something you feel like you can't pass up!

Prizes I've Purchased for this Blog!

I'm thinking about stepping it up some. 1 prize is alright, but the more you get, the more FUN it is! So here's my thinking: I may put together kits or sets after this current Giveaway is over. OR I may just add more winners! I want to know what you guys think...2-4 prizes for 1 person bi-weekly OR 2 winners bi-weekly? Let me know what would be more fun! I have SO much stuff, and even more on the I honestly don't mind putting an eye set or lip kit together, or even a full face kit!

Smoldering Holiday Look Using Elf Cosmetics

Here is a beautiful look using only Elf products. If you want to try something bold for the Holidays, here you go. ;) Step 1: Prime your eyelids. I am using Elf's Mineral Eyeshadow Primer in Blush.
Step 2: Use Elf's Studio Cream Eyeliner aa a base for your main color. Gently put a small layer of this on your eyelid, and blend upwards careful.
Step 3: Use Elf's makeup Lock & seal. Put 2-3 drops into the jar and use an an eyeshadow "C" brush to dip into the jar.
Step 4: Dip the wet brush into the Mineral Eyeshadow in Smoldering by Elf. Get a good amount of product on your brush, and glide it over your eyelids. Blend a little bit upwards as well. (so that the color is a tad bit higher than your crease.)
Step 5: Now take a smaller smudge brush and dip it into the Makeup Lock & Seal, followed by a dip into the Mineral eyeshadow in Smoldering. Smudge this along the outline of the bottom of your eye. Make sure to get some on the inner corner of your eyes.
Step 6: Line your lower lash line with a black eyeliner such as Elf's Studio Kohl Eyeliner.
Step 7: Take a lighter shade (neutral) and fill in the space between the main shade and your eyebrows. I'm using Elf's Mineral Eyeshadow in Elegant. Blend well where Smoldering and Elegant meet.
Step 8: Line your upper lash line with Elf's Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black.
Step 9: It's time to prime those pretty lashes! I'm using Elf's Studio Mascara Primer. 1-2 coats will work. :)
Step 10: Now coat your lashes with a good mascara. I'm using Elf's Mineral Infused Mascara. (My fave mascara)
